
Laurel’s Coffee
OBJECTIVE: Build the packaging design for a new gut-friendly, A2 dairy canned coffee brand now sold in Erewhon, Bristol Farms, and independent retailers around LA.
STRATEGY: Working closely with the founder, Isabel, we took design elements she previously had (the cow, coffee cup, coffee bean, etc.) and created the packaging for 2 SKUs, the Dirty Chai Latte and Classic Latte. After doing a competitor analysis of what the canned coffee industry looks like and where Laurel’s would sit on shelves, we landed on this current iteration of packaging.
The response
THE PRESENT: Velocities remain strong at Erewhon and Bristol Farms with both SKUs remaining top 10 in a category of over 33 SKUs.
REVENUE: Laurel's is consistently having 5-figure revenue months, consistently growing month over month.
US VS. THEM: Laurel's is the only dairy-based latte product in the top 10 SKUs at both Erewhon and Bristol Farms.
THE FUTURE: Laurel’s Coffee has confirmed upcoming launches at several key retailers, including Foxtrot, Central Market, Andronico's, and Berkeley Bowl, and are inches from getting a national retailer over the edge.
